Fitted shotgun shocks on my Fatboy yesterday , and I am very impressed with the ride, fully adjustable rebound and height, when the bike is in stock height the ride is very smooth with great handling, they were  easy to fit even on the ABS bike.

nice looking ride. I suppose it is a bit early to ask but does the ride change much if you drop it 1 or 2 inches below stock height??  I"m thinking of shocks to for a 07 FXSTC. at the moment I have drpoed the arse  on mine the the lowering colars 1.5 inches,,,and lost travel and ride,,, not to bad,,,but enough,,,,and I no Im being anal but I think just comeing down an inch would suit me all round for 2 up with the cook and still maintain a lowered look.

    cheers Jimmy

    Hi Jimmy,
The great thing with this system you can almost adjust it on the fly, if you are going through the some twists in the road , raise it a bit, when you park drop it down, just by pushing a switch.
Also the rebound is adjusted independently from the height so you can set it to where you like it at any height.

Gidday xlr8it ... did you fit the shocks your self ... if it`s ok to ask how much did you get them into Australia for ... I just had some Progressive 422 series fitted , the ones with the remote preload adjuster ... had them lowered about a inch ... early days but feel real good so far ... have been some mixed reports on how good mine are so always on the lookout for something better if I have to go that way .

    Cheers ... Tim .

Hi Tim, I bought this set from eBay, they were second hand but only had 4000 km on them so the price was good ($750), but I had to get a different compressor to fit the ABS bike ($200) delivered from JD at Shotgun.
As far as the ride is concerned they are brilliant , all I have to do now is something with the front shocks as they feel prehistoric compared to the rear . Any suggestions for the front would be good, was thinking progressive springs.

    Regards
    Leon

Yeah mate , again its early days but as well as the rear Progressive`s I put on I l also put in the front Progressive Mono Tube ... has definitely stiffened up the front and doesn't seem to dive any where near as much under heavy braking .

A mate just put in springs only in his Super Glide and reckons they made a noticeable difference ... and pretty cheap as well , under $100 I think he paid ... the Mono Tube set up I put in was a little dearer but worth it I reckon ... there was one more step up in Performance / Quality but as it was the type of stuff race bikes usually use so I thought there wasn`t much point .

There is a Aussie company called Ikon .. I think .. there have been some ok reviews about them as well ... good luck with your choice Leon , let us know which way you go , always interesting to get different points of view .

    Cheers , Tim .
