Just a question how many people buy loud pipes and then use ear plugs when they ride ?

I think the plugs filter out the crap noise and highlight the exhaust note

I used to wear ear plugs on long rides on the Softy with ScreaminEagles, probably for the same reason as someone above, the wind noise in the helmet is more annoying than the pipes.
However the RKC has not so loud pipes and the screen actually cuts down most of the wind noise. No ear plugs required. Also I have found that I don't need to wear goggles because of watery eyes.
Try a screen you will be surprised. I was......TC

I wear the half helmet from THH. as you would expect the wind noise gets up a bit from 80k's and up, but its my around town hat, if I venture from the city limits I have an open face with a screen and to kill the wind an I-Pod playing the tunes

Yep I use plugs, I already have a deficit in one ear so I want to keep wot is left, they do help with the wind noise alot, but nothing short of sealing ya ears will block out loud pipes

Around town, no plugs. On a longer ride where the speeds get interesting, I use the plugs to stop the wind noise. You can still hear the music from the pipes.

I've got really bad tinnitus so i don't like the wind noise so usually i put the tunes in to keep the wind noise down but can still hear the pipes and really enjoy the combo of the two . No matter what i do now the ringing will no go away its there for life so music /noise etc helps take it away but wind really seems to highlight the ringing for me.

Like todays ride, as ya get to 160ks the blur overtakes the sound. Being partially blind and deaf helps as well.

I wonder what the doof doof does to young car drivers????? certainly won't hear a HD coming.

Im thinking of getting some for the long rides as i am industrially deaf already and keeping them in when i get home, because with a wife, 3 kids and a dog you just cant be too carefull !

I don't think there's any shame in saying your pipes are too loud to put up with ALL the time without ear plugs.

Anyway, you started this JD and you've hear my pipes! I reckon I'm going to start wearing some plugs on the longer run (e.g. tomorrow) as it's not so much the noise, it's that it only hammer's me in one ear - my right ear.

Having ringing or bit of deafness in just one ear is very noticeable. - as opposed to the general deafness I get from driving my car with the compettion 12" subs in it.
    - Haha that'll fire some peeps up right!?

PS. Stuff the kiddies, they love it! and they only hear it for a second or two.
