Hey guys,

I am a chick who tries to maintain my bike and I have a question seeing I have no men I can call. (Who I would trust for info anyway)

My chain was heaps dirty and greasy and seeing I am going on the Poker Run Saturday wanted to make sure my bike was ready.

I degreased the chain then let it dry and then lubed it with a spray I brought at the bike shop but I got some on my tyre!

Seeing it was an oil I then got some Metho on a rag and wiped it off the tyre then dried it.

It was mainly on the side of the tyre but some did run under the tyre.

Have I done the right thing or have I rooted the tyre now?

Is it something that has to wear off the tyre or will I be best to play it careful in the rain for some time to come?

I'm Gunna disagree with hilly. A little bit of chain lube is hardly going to be an issue. The last thing I would do is start scrubbing the tyre with degreaser

Its hard to know what to do as I have not come off riding yet on a road bike and want to keep it that way so you can imagine how freaked I got when I saw it.
Its like a silicone lube.

I have been told to never spray your tyres with amourall or a tyre black product for the same reason.

Just wipe off what yah can and you will be fine....It will take more than a little bit of chain lube to stuff your tyre.

Thanks mate. I was more worried about the metho stuffing the tyre not the lube.

meths is fine! its only isoprop alcohol.
