I know subject,s been written before about screens I added one 2 my fatbob jus got sick of being wind thrashed ,its bad enough tryin 2 keep leg on peg which has tendency 2 keep blowing off peg so any relief 2 any part of my body was my main objective ,so went online MCAS spares and snavelled one national DX wind deflector screens 189 +8 delivery come 2 197 coupla days an arrived opened box had look 4 bags gadjets an a screen ok put away wait till im in mood .fuk time has come looked on computa at directions in bigger format first get more of idea how all those pieces in bags go together ,so opens bags put pieces for screen 2 gether first then sum spit where 2 round pieces pop onto screen bit that's already on screen which I didn't no was already on that was a sigh of relief wen I first opened box ,one less thing that could have been shitfight 2 get right ,make sure u have padding under screen wen pushing bit on takes a fair bit of force 2 get bit 2 pop on I ended up putting glove on so I could push harder no grease allowed wen doin only spit well got it on did other side then put bar mount bits all 2gether before mounting on bars so now jus have 2 clamp 2 bars bolts 2 clamp bracket bit of a pain 2 get started ive got 1 1/4 bars clamps at first didn't look big enough but were rite jus bar roundness all over the place ,got em both on pushed rods into holes that already on screen attachment sat screen jus above light tightened bar clamps they control height tilted screen 2 wat looked ok tightened wingnuts off 4 ride took tools so could try different settings  and straight away I noticed huge difference and could ride at 120 and barely feel wind on face was blowin helmet around but put my hand between me an screen an was calm as ,so now just find the right setting overall but this screen has given me less windsock feel straight up even better than expected bit buffeting at helmet but will work on that o MCAS gave back $10 so overall cost 2 home was 189 SHINGLES

You will find that with most other bikes with screens ( & prob Yours as well ) that all the Head buffeting is coming up from below. In other words up from below head light area. There are Genuine HD chrome wings that attach to outer side of forks near the bottom triple clamp. I don't have them, But will be getting them once I can ride again. I have heard nothing but Excellent reports about them.

 I also have a National Cycle Wind Deflector DX.  Bloody magic and best purchase ever.  I don't have pics of my bike JimD, but I have pics from some digger in Europe who has a Vivid Black like mine with one fitted.

Hopefully they will upload in this post.  Also Shingles, your posts are bloody hard to read mate, no offense.  A few new lines every now and then might help.  Just some constructive criticism digger.

I think those WINDSHEILD does alot especily if you do highways miles. Great looking screen mate!! My bike has a small screen I got from ebay.

well im finding out all sorts of different approach,s as how you wana set fairing up ,my fatbob for starters has 6" curved risers with fatboy bars and multi adjustable footpeg arrangement but cant show piks now hav 2 wait till da smart ones find time in there busy world 2 do 4 thee ,so firstly let fairing sit on table 4 few days then looked on computa an see how all dem bits in packets actually go together in blown up view ,now im ready put blanket on table start openin pakets and using instruckions well sorta alredy seen on computa so me got in head this bit go wif dat bit an so on hardest part pushin bit wif 2 knukles onto screen which must be on blanket spit on dem round bits and I put glove on so could exert as much force needed an there is quite a bit needed no sprays allowed maybe soap be ok never thought of that till now ,once both bits on screen handlebar clamps with rods that hold screen I put rods on 2 clamp first then put bottom clamp on bit triky getting thread 2 start but did but start other bolt after just few turns of first bolt or can be prob so both on not tite but on slide rods on screen bit into rods on bar bits all these bits plastic multi adjust so you can alter easily to achieve what you think is rite ,then off down hwy with 19ml spanner and 2 allen keys and piece plastic or paper so wen ya use spanner on nut u no scratch ,well after many goes and at least 40k each way stopping ocassionly 2 change possi of screen coz this did that wen I raised or lent out screen and ive tried every concieveable adjustment u could think of in out up down bak in up and one minute you've got it not bad but bein sorta guy I is nah we can make it better so stop out wif tools here we go nah that was fuked buffeted me head badly stop do again nope dat worse now firstly im wearin shoei platinum open face with flip screen aftermarket thing rattles vibrates bla bla but keep bug an rain off but now its goin banans doin me over fuk this adjust screen again ah that's better but still not rite ,well this went on 4 few daz well I don't work anymore due 2 lady driver who said I didn't hear you or see you that's y I av vance hines big shot staggered an besides stage iv upgrades wont work wif standard pipes or dem curved ones no good either was told cant tune proper anyway bak 2 screen did it work outa da box yes but bein finiky twit I fuked around changein screen till now im satisfied an looks nothing like were it should be but is doin wat I want and bottom of screen sits out inline with top of fork that's the bit that sits around lite but nah mine sits above forks brackets on bars tilted rite back which allowed screen 2 come up that high ,wat idid was loosen bar brakets tilted back then undone tilt nuts tilted screen  in far as can go and adjusted in an out rods till screen lined up with top of fork tube nipped all nuts up an down hwy screen so much higher that I have 2 look threw it still screen on helmet rattlein like mad but no bad buffeting I put my arm out in area between screen an me nuthin calm as could be I think ive got it jus dis visor well removed visor tried again not bad exept wind screamin strate up me nostrils in turbo fashion an gave me fukin headache but screen was workin brilliantly im not getting ripped backwards at all even at 140 + could ride 1 handed as was coverin me nose so fuk this up 2 shop bought this this thing called wind cheater goes over nose an ears an goes down around front of ya neck under shirt or jaket fuk best 35dolla ever spent no more nose drama an me necks warm an screens doin a mitey job ,sittin down on headlight worked but wasn't satisfied an wat da heck does it matter if u want on lites put there but ive found a place 4 mine an its heaven undescribeable really its not the same bike but it is and doesn't look outa place were I got it ,I just had 2 test all variations of fitment now I hope this explains what 2 expect if u put screen on ive seen those other ones that are smaller and are higher on bike an thought that couldn't work well I was wrong coz that's wat I did with mine get it up as high as could go and was much better than was down low that's it im done SHINGLES

yes steering damper works especially if tyre worn down an your in the habit of how fast can this fuker go at 200ks bike rock solid ,if tyre newish doesn't make a hole lot of difference but say your tyre is shot then that's when it did its job damper that is coz I tried with damper on and off with bald tyre to many smokies I guess ,but in general you don't need damper but still had to find out wether it made difference cost 315 delivered I bought online from usa cant just go dealer and buy without them charging you something ,MAINLY high speed stability improvement for sure and I do a lot of that I hope this gives you indication of what to expect ,honestly I have damper on hardest all the time do I think its worth buying only if your into flat out sorta riding and I like to know I have that stability there doesn't affect throwing bike around in flip flop cornering like making steering hard at all im a very pushy rider in that mountain shit anyway enough said SHINGLES

YEP I had screen there as well was jus see what I could get out of jus raising and it may not look right ,but I can sit behind screen without glasses and doesn't bother my eyes at all even at 120ks can still ride without head buffet and eye watering so that's where im leaving for a while ,probably the best thing ive put on bike no more neck wrenching windsock hand ripping effect and that's A plus for me wouldn't think that bit of plastic could change rideing comfort so much but has and yes may not be were was intended to be on bike but ive always been different SHINGLES
