My Seat Grommet on my 2010 Muscle tore right in the middle, which prevented the seat from locking down.
Easy fix I tell myself, order a new one from HD Australia, yeah right, HD won't sell you a grommet you need to purchase the whole seat @ $193 they can get F@#ked.
So after a bit of research this is what you do to replace the grommet:
1. Purchase a Rubber Grommet from Burson's Auto Parts, Part Number A92 Mackay Bush Price $1.62.
2. Place the grommet on a bolt between two washers and nip up a frag.
3. You'll need a Lathe for this part, you need to turn a step in the Grommet 3mm wide 17mm Diameter 6mm in from the end.
4. Don't worry about the Internal Diameter, that's spot on.
5. The new Grommet has a Diameter of 25mm, that's fine for our purposes.
6. For the correct length I just used a real sharp stanley knife, if it's not neat don't worry, you can hide it within the seat.
7. Install Grommet, if you find it awkward to install you can remove a couple of mm from the Diameter that goes within the seat so as to make installing easier.
8. Smile you just saved your self $191.38
Buy the seat, take it home, try it on, take it back because the grommet is missing, I bet they find one then.
