Compared to a 2013 std bike is it better or worse or the same?

Hp about the same, torque is higher than what we normally see on a 103. It sure ain't 10% better like I hear they claim!

I hope that this bike comes back after they get some more miles on it, so we can do another set of dyno pulls. What I showed was the highest and lowest of the pulls we made. While I am not really impressed with what I saw, I still hold out a little hope that the numbers come up some after it gets more miles on it. Now, I'm not holding my breath but am willing to see what it does down the road. The problem is I cannot be assured they will bring it back by again. Will will be running more of the new engine in the near future so we will see how they begin to fall in line a month or two down the road.

Have they been released yet and how would someone get one to dyno?

The bikes were for sale last Monday here in the USA. I know of several dealerships that have reported they are going out the door quickly. The one we ran on the dyno had 180 miles on it and the owner said he picked it a couple days before. Our in house test bike is out on the road getting miles put on it and should be back in the next week or so. We want to get over 1000 miles on it before we start in with testing. Once we get it back in I will post what it does just the same as this last one.

Would the lack of improved Brake Horse Power (BHP) or torque be a reason for increased cubic inches in standard production bikes?

Not sure how the exchange works but back when I was just starting to drive I can remember gas wars at the local stations. and 0.09 per gallon was the lowest price we had. It was typically around 0.15 a gallon back then................... now we do not even want to talk about it at $4+ a gallon!

Back before I could drive I worked at a gas station and everything was full service back then. The standing bet was anyone who could get a $2.00 or more into a VW bug everyone else would buy them lunch for the week! Well I figured out if you lifted up on the front bumper while you filled the tank (which was under the front hood) you could get more in. Well I was the first to get a week of free lunches but the second time I had one I though with enough room in the tank I was pulling up on the bumper and it fell off! I landed on my ass, gas hose in one hand and bumper in the other. Cost me almost a weeks wages to get it fixed!

    Ya were getting old.

Had a good look at the new bike water cooled bike today. The info system is impresive, taking it for a run next week to put a few hundred klm on it. The dealer has left it standard to see how the high output 103 goes in std form. If anyone is interested will post my thoughts

    Hi,
How's the AFR readings, so much for Harley's come lean from the factory you better add a tuner to lower AFR otherwise gonna blow a piston through motor

Will be interesting to see next one with air intake change and exhaust change

    Thanks

Just finished with installing an upgrade air cleaner assemble and slip-ons. What a night mare! The new engine requires a new air cleaner assemble as none of the ones that the local HD dealership had would fit. The SE catalog says 2008 and up touring but they do not work! There is one new one listed for a 2014 but it's on back order for 2 months! The owner was very helpful as they wanted to know too, so they let me take a new Air Cooled RK bike apart at the dealership to show them what didn't work and sure enough it was just like mine! So we tested on the Water Cooled and the Air Cooled 2014 versions both. So what I ended up with was a stage one kit and had to buy a cover and cover bolt. They said they would give me those parts at there cost for the trouble. Took the back plate and machined it to get it to fit properly, so now were set to start tuning it. So anyone thinking about just slapping the air filter kits on a 2014 be very careful!

I would make sure they just don't try and stuff a bunch of gaskets in to to try and make it fit right. I set the back plate up in the mill and re-machined it so it fits properly. Once that was done the rest of it was straight forward but I can see people just putting it on and not paying attention and trying just to crank the bolts down only to end up with a broken backplate or worse breaking a mounting ear off the throttle body!

Limited 2014 software update is now released. This will allow for programming and testing of all 2014 HD bikes EXCEPT Touring models. The Touring models were held back since we donot yet have the base calibrations finished. This means you can work on all the rest of them now. Also HD has seen fit to change the wiring on the Data Link Connector on the Touring model ONLY. This requires a new cable interface kit for the 2014 Touring models only. It is in stock at our dealer now and can be ordered if needed. As the Touring model air cooled and water cooled calibrations get completed we will add and update for them.

Made good progress this week and Beta Software is going to Beta testers for the 2014 Touring bikes now. Here is a sneak preview of whats coming. 103 base calibrations are being finished up both air and water cooled and CVO 110 are for next week.

Plenty of new tuning items for the tuners to do there jobs. The Active exhaust features are only for HDI calibrations as it's not used in the USA.

All the 2014 bike calibrations are now released to the public. The Beta tester have been running it for a few weeks now without issue, so now you can too. Base calibrations for Water Cooled, Air Cooled 103's and 110's.
