Have done several cam changes in the new 103's and after all the goss on the C lifters being ordinary I have pulled a set from a 12 month old Switch back an noticed the C lifters had departed with the hard facing on the roller, lucky for the guy that owns the bike as he will get some gatemans now, He was about to do a 3500k ride and could of been a different story if his timing in fitting a cam wasn't now

not sure if they are crap or not mate. But until some one can show me that they are made to order on an American specification and not just a product made to a price and passed out I am not going to put them in any bike I own or work on. Just wished I had read the box before I handed over the money.

I think Hilly is running the gatermans
The guy doing my machine work looked at them and said no fucking way but he does have some very set ideas about various manufactures, he also told me to piss of my new fueling cam plate.
Haven't got to use the S&S lifters yet but will in the next few months, then I will see what the woods lifters look like when I pull the old motor but they will only have about 5k on them

So what preload is everyone using on the newer Gaterman's ?
Doesn't seem to be any consistency. Anywhere from Gatermans .063 Inlet, .078 Exh , to bottomed out and back a turn ?

I set them at 100 down and they where noisy so I then went 150 down with better results. I might give one turn of the bottom a go like hilly is running because I still get a bit of noise around 2000 rpm
