Hey All ....Thinking about trading in my sporty for a softail slim its a lot of bucks to spend so I want to be sure this is as good as the salesman says it . I like the look of the bike the weight and the height is good for me,,Curious to weather there is anything I should be concerned about ...thanks all..

 

G'day JohnnyB, I traded my 2012 1200 custom when the Slims first arrived and haven't regretted it 6 months on. Loved the sporty's always have but the difference between the two couldn't be done justice by a few short lines here bloke, but in saying that I wouldn't go back, it's an awesome ride. If you have the cash to splash all I can say is go for it as the price is right. Power to weight ratio is sweet due to the 103, it pulls well down low and 6th gear won't be needed until you push through the 130/140 ish mark on the dial. Will cruise all day in 5th until then. No vibrations due to the rigid mounting, corners well with the narrower rear tyre, albeit a few scrapes of the boards occasionally but that's mainly due to its the bike being the lowest in height in it's class. All in all bloke a great ride and I'm digging it...try one out Johnny and I'm pretty sure you'll go for it. All the best with ya choices bloke. Frosty

just bought one my self mate got the vivid black, its ready for pick up in a week the only problem I have is im on a 4&1 fifo dam this is going to be a very long swing lol

FIFO myself loadedbore, managed to do the change over during my R&R luckily, but getting to my first service was a bit of a struggle. Fuck it's the longest 1600 ks I've ever done riding between swings, but I'm there now with only one more ride, and almost finished up top for a while so be able to get some serious riding done. I went the slim and love it, having heaps of fun kickin back now (mods are nearly complete) and just enjoying the breeze more, last bike was a 96 cube fatboy and loved it too, but the slim just seems all that much more fun and is a great base to customise from. enjoy it

That does look nice Azzo! I'am slowly adding stuff myself to mine, couldn't be happier with the slim, I added 259 cam's to give it a little more, heres a photo of mine, still have rocket covers and fork tins to add and that should pull me up.

My bike has arrived. 2014 Softail Slim in Daytona Blue Pearl.  Got Vance and Hines longshots, hi flo air filter, bobber style black cover over it, side mount number plate.

So far, so good.  Love the sound.  Love the rumble and occaisonaly pop when engine braking.  

Going for a 4 hour ride tomorrow.  It should be epic.
