I bought a Redline from Ebay. I was told (not sure if true) the HD batteries have around 290 - 310 cold cranking amps (CCA) while the one I bought (Redline) has 450 CCA...and was much cheaper. I couldn't find them on Ebay (Aus) when I searched for Redline, but I found them when I searched for the particular model I was after - so if you search for HVT-1 (the model I bought) it'll bring up the redlines and you search his other batteries if that one doesn't fit.

PerthHog, my Redline is doing well - cheers for the initial recomendation.

And KiwiDave, my original Deka/HD battery never seemed to work that well. On startup I always felt as if the bike wasn't going to start (or at least it was struggling to turn over properly, but it started...until, of course, the day it didn't. That's why I wanted more CCA, and now the bike sounds like it's turning over well, rather than a slow wind.

As always, everyone has different experiences. If I was going for HD/DeKA I'd want more oomph myself.

Deka, Battery World stocks them. Yes they are the same thing as stated just not all black and without the HD on it. I was wanting a Ballistic or Oddssey but cost and time to get one here settled for the Deka.

I recently bought an SSB lithium battery through batteries direct (http://www.batteriesdirect.com.au). Ordered on Monday online and it arrived Tuesday afternoon. Melbourne to country SA in under 24 hours.

Only had the battery for about a week before going back to work so I can't comment to much on the longevity

I got 7 years out of a stock battery in my sporty.
Original ones ( and most bike batteries are the same) are calcium.
I replaced it with a non genuine calcium with more CCA that cost less.

Time will tell I suppose. .....shame I sold her.
