They are always hard to notch into neutral. Having said that I just adjusted my clutch the other week and suddenly I can pull up at a set of lights and snip her into neutral no worries. Mind you it drags a little until warm, but a small price to pay.

And make sure you haven't put too much oil in the gearbox coz that can make finding neutral hard.

well I ajusted the primary and changed the oil then ajusted the clutch and changed the gear oil with a fully synth and she will slip into neutral while rolling to a stop but idling at a stop is a no go for neutral so it looks like I will be ripping the box out of the old girl

thanks for the help guys it was all worth a try cheers

if the bikes gearbox works fine whilst it riding no noise changes nice apart from hard to find neutral when stopped why pull it out these bikes are like tractors even the late
twincams are hard to find neutral at times it will never be like a jap bike maybe learn to drop it in to neutral before you stop + 1 to what ever one else has said

    Hey Bourkie

    Bonding shields
Change the oil in the clutch for Mobil ATF is the oil for automatic transmissions in cars, to some extent, eliminate the problem
Another common mistake is too high oil level in the clutch
    Sorry for my english

Plus pulling the tranny is not going to fix your problem...I run harley primary oil with great success. ATF also works for some as its thinner
