Cam change on me lonesome

     Hi all

i completed the twin cam 88 cam swap today ( had two days off thanks to the ekka show and commercial job site shutdown) which was handy cause I need two days to do it!

i re did all the usual things bearings lifters, pushrods etc and learned a few valuable lessons along the way. It took two days cause I am impatient and like to stay focused while on a roll but that caused me to revisit a coupe of key stages once ( or twice)......... ok three times. But I'm glad I did take the time to re do these stages as she fired up first go and cracked out a nice lumpy note ( although pretty loud)

i was quietly chuffed and relieved at the same time. Thanks to this forum and you tube , I got through it unscathed and really enjoyed the moment when she cracked into life with no scary noises

So now that I've sprouted off about reinventing the wheel, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good tuner on the Gold Coast that can hand tune a carby ( mikuni 42) as while a dyno would be the best proposition, after forking out close to $700 in parts for the cam change I'm swinging low on the greenbacks for a little while.

    All the best

    Me

Well done. How many hours did it take you all up over the two days?

can't help with the tuner down your way sorry. I was however down at bike street (what ever it's called) in Nerang today and surely there would be some one in that area that could help.
Congrats on having a go and getting it done. It don't matter how long it takes you if you have the time spare.

or install a Wideband O2 set-up on one of the pipes. I have one on my exhaust pipe and its been a godsend in tuning my CV carbby.
