Spent a while on the forums here but never posted.

 I ride a late 1984 XLS1000 Roadster

I bought this bike to learn me some wrenching - so far so good. Trying to strip it back and update the look over winter/spring - a bit of a nod towards a bobber, but I'm a bit more focussed on learning than I am trying on to get the perfect look.

This weeks lesson - make sure you have gaskets on hand... I adjusted the pushrods/lifters and one of the seals died (if you look closely at the pic you can see a small trail of oil coming from the bottom of the front most pushrod) - as it turns out getting a set of 11101-XL gaskets quickly is tricky.

I've got a leather solo spring seat to weld on, and I'm looking for some more bits to complete the transformation:

• King Tank
• Black 30'' drag bars
• Speedometer (the one on the bike is rooted!)
• Pipes
• Fenders

Anyway, nice to be here, looking forward to having something a bit unique to show in a few months.
