I have a set of fat boy bars that I like the height and width of but don't like the big pullback on them. They are stainless and my question is are they able to be straightened out at all. Can they be heated up and then modified. I was thinking a shop that does Stainless work or maybe an engineering shop might be able to do it.

And it would be cheaper, easier and safer to just buy new bars to suit

you do not want  a crack @ a later stage in your h/bars ,     when on the hwy @ speed or you could end up on the hwy arse-up

    .

    Your on the Gold Coast
    Go to Burleigh Bars

    If they can't adapt yours,
they can make bars to your specs

Gidday Steve ... have a look at GWorks , out of Victoria I think , web site and check out there range of bars ... they have a set called Bully bars if you like the low look ... they have a 1" and a half inch riser built into the bars which are a 1" and a half inch thick ... nice and chunky and real smooth lines once you feed the lines through the guts ... 550 bucks , a tad exy but cheap compared to Burliegh bars which I reckon look great as well but dam expensive .

I have a set on order , will post a pic when I get them up here and fitted ... I would be a bit wary of bending already bent bars as it may weaken the integrity of them .

    Tim .

Thanks for the replies and a couple of options fellas. I didn't really think it could be done with out causing problems. I did try a lower straighter set of bars this morning on the way to work and they gave my shoulder some grief. I might have to stay with the fat boy bars as they don't seem to agreviate my shoulder. It's a bastard getting older and things not working like they used to. I'll just have to learn to live with them for now.

Mate, go to a fabricator and give him some specs as to what you need.
I'm sure there will be some near you.
