can someone confirm how much oil the gearbox and clutch of a 1986 softail?????

nice rides you have there gearbox oil is about 800ml there should be a dipstick on the end of the fill plug and the primary 1ltr or to the bottom of the clutch

 

or as someone will say buy a bloody manual

Thanks mate, the dipstic had broken off, (not into the gearbox I hope) and I had two contradicting volumes of oil, your 800mls agrees with one of them so I go with that

no worries Conrad I just went had look in my book the exact amount for a 5 speed 710mil in the upright position you may want to drain a bit as it may blow out the breather vent when it is hot sorry if I lead you astray
