Tried uploading pics of my $3000 worth of improvements to my 2007 Road king but the pics would not upload - kept getting error message. I give up!

Best to use photobucket. The photos need to be too small in file size to upload them direct to the site.

    Hello.

I signed up to photobucket - but I'm not really sure how to use it. Could you give me a few pointers?

    I use imageshack usually:

    imageshack.us/

I don't think I ever put in my email address - I just upload the pic and copy the text they give me to this site.  They usually give you a few lines of text (or code) so just try one without closing the window.  Its usally the code with [ ] in it.

Mate I'm no expert,  But this is what I do when I wont to upload pics to any site or even email.

1 . Get the picture you wont to unpload  on your computer screen . (if you click properties you will see it is quiet a large file)

    2. Use the" Snipping tool" ,  (you should have that on your computer)

    3. Take a Snip of the picture on your sreen.  ( and call it  something in the box provided)

    4. Save this new (Snip picture)  to your desktop . (I find is easier to save it there )

    5. Now you have picture that is 10%  the size as your original picture.

    6. Use this picture to upload or email

Doing is this way takes a fraction of the time to upload. and the picture is as clear as the original on a computer.   You have to do one at a time, but you will get the hang of it.

When you finish uploading the pics  where you want,  you then if you want , delete the little fuckers  !!!!!

    Hope that helps.  Cheers

Thanks for the tip - however I have worked out a better way - by using the photobucket app.

Easiest way I find is to open an account with Photobucket (bonus is storing photos somewhere other than your computer).

So go to Photobucket and sign in (assuming you have an account which you mentioned you did).

    Click on 'Log In'

    Then click on 'Upload'...

Then click on 'Choose photos & videos'...

When it has finished uploading, the photo(s) will show up at the bottom. Click on the photo you want to share with the site...

A larger version of the image will appear with a 'Direct link' next to it, click on the link...

Once you have copied that link go back to HDForums.com.au and click on the 'Insert Image' button...

This will bring up a new box whereby the link you copied from Photobucket should be copied into...

Then your photo should show up in the post you are creating, when you have finished adding your photos to the post click 'Submit' at the bottom and you should be done.

No probs, I use Photobucket as a backup of all my bike/forum stuff and Imageshack to backup all my family photos. After losing a heap of files on my computer I just don't trust it.
