Rod, Dynoharley will set you in the right direction, but you would ideally pull the heads anyway to gain some compression for the 37's.
Once your that far, for another few $$, why not go to 103" ?

Hi guys not meaning to hijack thread but am doing something simular to Rodtrain ... 2008 Fxstc , currently have Freedom Shorty`s ... S & S Air Cleaners and Stealth Cover ... PC5 ... have had it on the dyno with a 80 hp result ... am having some Mid Range S & S Easy start cams put in with adjustable push rods and some Fuelling lifters .
Can I ask what are the main advantages to the Fuelling Lifters and are there any other mods I should consider while the pride and joy is apart ... should I be looking at different valve springs ... only have 5000 K`s on her at the moment ... not looking to drag race or anything but if there is something that is smarter to do now while she is down then it will be worth considering .
Also putting in one of those M6 Hayden Primary Chain adjusters ... supposed to make life a little easier for the bearings in that area as well as make gear changes a bit sweeter ... I am sticking with the stock Cam Chain adjuster at this stage as I was pretty keen on a gear driven set up but to many people said that would high light a problem with Crank run out and as the motor is still fairly fresh there shouldn't be any dramas .
Thanks guys for any response ... just trying to make some educated decisions for the beast ... Tim .

Hi guys ... works done for the week ... Dyno Harley the S&S Cams came at a pretty good price ... $300 bucks brand spankers ... another guy ordered them for his ride supposedly but got into a bit of financial strife and had to sell bike before installing them so shop I go to got stuck with them ... a guy called Fred at a shop called Procycle up here in Brisbane ... haven't got the compression numbers at the moment , will get that checked out ... are Easy start cams a bit sus Dyno or do you just prefer a different Cam .
Hilly , yeah Fred suggested the same thing ... I should clarify guys that I am no whiz bang mechanically minded type of person ... just one of guys who knows a tiny little bit about a lot of different things and always trying to pick up some knowledge along the way ... hence the reason for asking what the Fuelling Lifters do that stock ones don't .
Thanks for the reply's ... anything else you can think of by all means let me know ... Cheers , Tim .

Mine are the 583`s as well ... could have got them from M & M out of Ohio for $368 pus shipping and a lot closer to $400 some places more up here in Brizzy ... they come with the better bearings and gaskets so thought it wasn't to bad a deal .

Why are the cams you have only good for 2008 onwards? I have a 2007 flstf which I thought would have been the same. I was looking at the s&s easy start cams but also the Andrews 37h. I wasnt aware of any change between the 07 and 08 engines...?
