Back in the saddle

    G’day all,

I’ve been in between bikes for the past 21 years! Yeah I know, but it’s a long story. Short version, life got in the way. Family, kids, house etc, etc, etc

Needless to say I have been looking and dreaming for a fair while. So I pretty much known exactly what I wanted when the time was right.

Anyway SWMBO finally let the purse strings loose last time home and everything clicked. I ended up walked out of the dealership with a new FXDF.

WHY THE HELL DID I WAIT SO BLOODY LONG?????

I’m enjoying being back in the saddle and loving the crap out of this bike.

The old leathers don’t fit any more (I’ve gained a fair few lbs) but the old boots still do and I’m relearning my old bad habits.

    I think SWMBO’s regretting her decision, but I ain’t!

    Cheers

    Buckshot

    Thanks for the welcomes guys.

Rodtrain, I am no Harley aficionado by any stretch of the imagination. I would hate to advise anybody on a bike they should or shouldn’t buy, it such an individual thing. Many years ago a dealer (not a Harley dealer) told me something that rings true. “Whatever bike you buy, you have to love it, otherwise it’ll sit in the garage and gather dust”. It’s so damn true. I’ve been at work for five weeks now and all can think about is getting home and throwing a leg over (both of them).

Roger on the boots and jacket there Tim. I defiantly put the ‘Fat’ in Fat Bob

     Hi buckshot

    LOVE THE BIKE GREAT CHOICE

I was in the same set of circumstances with 15 yrs between bikes the Fat Bob is magic soooo easy to ride for a big bike ( my last bike all those years ago was a Honda 250 four stroke )

massive jump up to a 1700 weighing 320 kgs but other than the odd FLINTSTONES moment at the lights I feel like I have owned it for years. Are they slipons if so which ones I have the s&s slipons and they sound great but not too loud to upset neighbours.

are you planning any more mods I am always looking at what others have done to their Bobs

    cheers

    steve
