this might sound a bit stupid but i just noticed today that the right front wheel bearing  is protuding  1/4'' from the hub. i looked in the workshop manual and could not get any details but one photo showed the same thing.  is that how they are? it does not look like there is a spacer in there either {on the right} but there is a cover on the hub with 5 screws i think. no problems with the ride but it just looks a bit weird once you notice it.

if somebody with a fatboy with stock wheels can confirm the bearing is supposed to be sticking out a bit it would give me peace of mind.

i dont have a camera mate. if i did i would not know how to show the photo. what i am going on about is it looks like the bearing is floating out. it might have always been like that but i think i would have noticed. i was hoping somebody with a 2002 fatty could check their front wheel and tell me if the bearing is flush with the hub or sticking out a bit cheers

Have you had it from new , how are the gaps , is it all plumb , any play or noise from it under or without load on it at all , is it all stock gear for that model , I hear yours is a 2002 model but I thought HD fatties went to an offset front hub in 2007 or similar for some reason and had the right side frontend coke can cut out to allow for it ?
Not sure on the full story now , though I had an '07 FLSTC and noticed that difference with the Fatboys , there was write ups about it at the time , maybe search it on this site and see for reference , not that yours is that model but it may point to the reason they went that way or something ?
Sorry if I can't be of more help or just confused the issue more hey ?
