I tried on a Bell helmet yesterday, very comfy. Haven't purchased one yet, but was looking at the Shark Evo 3 thread, now they look interesting especially with Sharktooth integration. Might have to put some money away from now until Xmas, if I end up going down that route.

Cheers for the heads up on the Sharktooth China. So by the sounds of it, it's better to use your earphones to take phone calls on the go, rather than opt for Sharktooth?

Hey guys, are they a good enough helmet without all the fancy plugs and stuff? I only need a helmet that is cumfy, wind don't hurt me ears (tinnitus) fold down visors,fit,etc....just the bare basics.  thanks.

Several things I should point out. The Shark is a compromise in anyones language. It is neither the best open face or full face helmet if viewed in their own right, but it is the best thing out there if you want some wind in your face one moment and then close the whole thing up if it starts getting cold or it starts pissing down,

No charging: This is a common issue with may devices these days. The simple fact of the matter is that batteries have a finite recharge lifespan and the type of battery and how they are charged can kill them very quickly. Go and buy a $3000 laptop with a 3 year warranty and then read the warranty conditions, the battery is generally warranted for 6-12 months, they are unfortunately a consumable. The waterproofing thing I agree with, could be a design flaw, bad fitting or it just got fucked up by too much water. I believe that everything fails at some point these days, it's all crap made in China because we all want the stuff for bugger all. The hallmark of a quality product I believe is the back up service. If the thing shits itself they fix or replace quickly with no issues. I would rather a product that does the job perfectly and has a few issues that are fixed quick smart than shit stuff that refuses to break. Funny that!

Had 2 Bluray players of various brands costing over $1000 each shit shemselves (all replaced, no roblems), but my two $50 players my kids beat the fuck out of refuse to die! Fucked if I know why.

Cool Chinashop. Valid points. 3 weeks turnaround is a bit long.

If you want to experience shit product and fuck all service go buy yourself a Holden Captva. If your Bluetooth failure pissed you off,  dealing with Holden about a $40,000 piece of shit would have sent you into a Postal rage. Why dont we have lemon laws yet in this country? Applies to bikes as well!

I got the Bell Star 2012 for $400 from Peter Steven's too. They had a clearance sale. The difference between the 2012 and 2013 is the '13 has some Silver in the lining which makes it antibacterial. Not worth the $200 bucks difference in my eyes.

    Helmet is comfortable and light.

I look at it this way, an open face is really only good for riding around town, over 80-90ks there is just too much wind in your face not to mention all the other crap that is flying in your face from cars & trucks also bugs. I refuse to wear those silly looking face masks, may as well wear a full face helmet.

I have an Evoline 3 helmet as well it is a great go between if you require open face & full face, personally it is a good choice but some would think other wise.

Full face is a great helmet and some dont have them because they don't the cool factor, or they dont have that bad boy image, Full Face helmets are hot in the summer months,

So to sum it up you really 3 helmets and your covered for all occassions, I just switch to what every helmet I want to use on the day as I have several to choose from.

Just like one bike isn't good enough, you need 3 to cover all occassions as well :-)
