ID be getting on the ph to the seller Crook. Should've been taken down as soon as he received your deposit.
Hope for your sake there's nothing dodgy going on. Good luck mate.

Well, thanks all for your concerns, and thanks Tim for drawing my attention to it. I was a tad nervous for a while but having had many conversations with the seller I still felt OK.

Anyway, he has withdrawn the ads from both sites and the bike is ready for collection at 5pm today for Saturday delivery to me. WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

By the way, the bike is an FXST in as new condition, 11 months old with 3,400km, V&H Big Radius, Screamin Eagle Breather, Race Chip, New Seat, New Bars and Chrome Kit incl Braided lines etc. for $23,000 is that an OK price do you reckon?

Hope all goes well for ya Tony . He,s taken it off ebay as he told you . Sorry to alarm you , but it just didn,t seem right seeing it on ebay when you,d put down a deposit to buy it . Would not have wanted your purchase to end on sour note . Price is good , but don,t worry about it , just enjoy the ride  .   Cheers , Tim .

    Hi Crookneez,

$23K, is a good buy for a 12 month old Softail. I definately got ripped off buying mine, paid just over $20K for my 06  7000 KM grey import last year, unfortunately it goes to show you have to do your homework propperly, but it is no good crying over spilt milk now aye?  As for insurance, have you tried Real Insurance?  They are underwritten by QBE from memory.  I am with them and I pay approximately $800 p.a.  Mind you, I have had my bike licence for well over 14 years now.  I'm not sure how much they would quote you though, but it'd still be worth a shot making an enquiry.

Good on ya Crookneez ... have fun and like the rest take it nice and easy to start with .

Just a curious question to your self and any other members for that matter ... doesn't that insurance price seem a little high for both Crookneez and 06 Softail ... is it due to them both not having a license for very long ... I only pay about $450 through QBE fully covered ... but I have had my bike licence for over 30 years .

Just seems a bit harsh as I would imagine both of these fine people have had other forms of insurance in the past ... maybe I should come back to reality and realise that insurance companies will use any reason to rip someone off .

Anyhow guys enjoy your rides ... Tim .

Off topic a bit, but I pay about $400 a year through Shannon's for my 2012 Harley and $450/yr for each of the Ducati's. And the Harley is insured for at least $3k more than each of the dukes. Had my licence for 10+ years but I've only had bike insurance for just over a year now. I didn't bother insuring any other bikes I owned until now. RAA and SGIC were quoting me over $1500 for each of the dukes. QBE was around $800/yr. it just shows that you should shop around but I would never choose youi or insuremyride, heard too many bad stories about them downgrading claims.

WOOOHOO!!!! (sort of) Well she arrived this moring at 11.30. Unloaded all the boxes, standard bars etc and finally the Harley. Walked her over and put her on the stand, put the key in, started ignition... NOTHING... fuck all.
Shits were trumps for a while but I quickly figured it had to be a flat battery. Sure was... DEAD FLAT... ZIP... NOTHING AT ALL. I few mates that called to see and hear were a tad disappointed and so was I.
BUT fuck me she's beautiful, I mean she took my breath away. I'm in love.
She's on charge now, soooooo, hopefully, tomorrow I'll be able to fire her up.
    Cheers all

OK so you're onto the video,,, here it is and I'm not proud of it http://www.hdforums.com.au/Default.aspx?tabid=71&forumid=42&postid=529689&view=topic.

Thanks everyone for their support though. I'm going to love riding the beast and only a month to go.

Christ, when I see myself on camera I realise why I'm trying to shed a few kilos. The power to weight ratio will be much improved when I'm less of a fat bastard.
