    Hi all,

Just got one of these from the wife for our anniversary and thought I'd write up a quick review.

First of all the thing is heaps lighter that the old Evo 2 series. It looks the same with some minor tweeks. The first thing you notice is it feels rather tight when you first put it on. I'm a large in every helmet but this one felt rather tight, but the XL was comfy but would have been too loose when it compacted down a bit so I took the L expecting some give in the material. I fits my head very well with very good cheek support and generally feels like it fits well.

Took it out today for its fist test. With the chin piece down the sound insulation is very good. The action of the clear visor is easy with the visor lip at the top center. Sliding the darkened visor down was easy and works a treat. It's a cool thing if it all gets too bright. Even at high speeds the visor stayed down and caused no buffeting with the chin piece up.. The helmet is very aerodynamic and and performed well in high winds and made no wind whistles or strange noises. Flipping the chin piece is very easy with one hand and can be done in a second. These things are great if you're not sure how the weather is going to play out on a ride. They are designed to accept the Shark Bluetooth Communication devices. It's early days but so far so good. Like I said I tried the Evo 2 a while back but it was so heavy this is really light. Try it out and see if it works for you. Paid $549, not cheap but it seems made of high quality materials.

Shark Evoline 3 is a great helmet, best of both worlds, open face & full all in one helmet.

Also another improvement with the Evo 3 is they changed the inside of the helmet so it was more oval shaped instead of a round shape, most people have an oval shaped head helmet now has a real comfy fit. They also changed the way the chin piece opens, when the clear visor is down and you push the button to open the chin piece it now opens the clear visor at the same time so you can change the helmet into open face mode. Also with the Shark Evoline you can ride with it in open face mode, where other helmets which are dual purpose you cant ride in the open face mode. A good helmet with some smart engineering  for the price.

Thanks for the added info Rocky. You are right though, the fit is much better than the Evo 2.
