    HI all

starter clutch had a few hiccups over the past 12 months,,like I mean once every coupla months. it did it the other day and twice today,,I'm either thinking it wont do it for awhile...or it will just shit itself when I'm least expecting,,,

I got a ride organized this weekend too??

so park it up or 80% chance it will be ok,,20% chance it will sjit itself??

    your comments thanks.

    cheers Jimmy.

+1 good point. Charge battery so at least you can eliminate that.

I have a 2007 Street Bob and have had what I've been told is starter clutch issue for the last 4-5 years.. but I'm not sure it's the problem. Sounds awefull when trying to start sometimes and all I do is hit the start button immediatly I turn the ignition, before fuel pump gets to full pressure especially when hot and all seems ok. Going to change the starter clutch one day!!!!

You mentioned that you have changed the cams , l don't think doing that would effect the starter greatly , if you had put a big bore kit in which bumps the compression up the starter clutch will definitely cause you greif , hence S&S put out the easy start cam range to fix the problem by dropping the compression down on start up. As previously stated check your battery for charge and the battery connections for tightness. lf you haven't already got one get the Harley trickle charge kit, their not expensive and it will ensure your battery is ready to go when you are. With these late model bikes with alarm systems it doesn't take long before the battery charge drops off sitting idle
