Oil in air filter.

Just been out cleaning the air filter on my 08 Street Bob.

Inside the filter was very oily. The breather tubes in particular. Been looking it up online and what I have so far come up with is that the higher than normal temps here in Ireland may be the cause or that the oil tank could be overfilled?

Doubt if the oil level is too high. It was fine last time I checked and hasn't been touched. Temps here are an uncommon 20-26 degrees celsius.

    Any ideas?

Cheers. That's what I seem to be getting everywhere I check.

Just make sure you check the level when its hot. And in my experience i have found to try and keep the oil level 1/8" under the full mark, as minimal misting happens then.

Good, sound advice. We don't usually get such hot weather here (mores the pity) but I had a suspicion that the temps had something to do with it. Reckoned you lads in Australia and the Americans would have a better idea as to what if any effect the temperature would have on a bike...or a car. (excuse the foul language....don't drive a cage myself :-D)
