I've had this bke since 2009 and I've almost lost count of the pipes and slipons I've tried.  Standard mufflers, Screaming Eagles, Rush, Vance and Hine 3 "slipons, two different types of Australian made BLUFF mufflers, Vanceand Hines shortshots, back to factory pipes with many varied fittings again of the prior mentioned mufflers, then these straightshots, with quiet baffles, took them out and had loud baffles with HARDKORE baffles and still not happy.  If I liked the look, I didn't like the sound.  Liked the sound, didn't like the look !

So this is how it looked until today.

    Now it looks like this

I'd never really seen a 2 into 1 that I liked, but this one seemed to grow on me.  Bugger it, it was about the only system I hadn't tried.  Not too hard to fit, but I would talk to SAMSON about the mounting bracket, (PM me and I'll explain), or if you know someone with a lathe, it will take five minutes to make a bush.  Their instructions basically say "REMOVE OLD SYSTEM AND FIT THIS ONE".  Heat shield are a slut to get on too........but ,  the chrome work is perfect, as are the welds, it is a fully welded single system, so no joins to leak.

It clears the oil filler easily, and you can remove the rear axle without touching the exhaust.  I love the sound of it, although it is nothing like a two into two system, but that's OK.

Two tuning runs with the POWERVISION had it flying.  Pulls cleanly right through the rev range, with no decal popping, and quieter than the V & H straightshots with the Hardkore baffles........and it only took four years and a few thousand bucks !!!!  Easy really.

The FATCAT was too long and low for my liking.  Being basically lazy, and HATING working on wheels, brake and tyres (cars or bikes) I wanted to be able to service the bike without having to piss about with any other parts that shouldn't need to be touched.

Gotta agree with your choice in pipes tim, Got the same on my fatbob except in black. They do sound good too. Getting dynoed on monday so we'll see how it performs then.

    Thanks Harry,

I've done mine with a powervision map and then autotune, and I think I've nearly got it right.  I'll be interested to see how yours comes out with a dyno.  I'm amazed how smooth and quiet these are for a 4 inch pipe with a straight through baffle.

    Cheers

    Tim

Sure was mate. The SEPRT died a sad water damaged death so had to ante up for a PV1. Thing that impresses me tim is it pulls from zero to hero without a bump or hiccup and better yet doesn't rattle ya ears off like a V&H. That tune that Brian put in it is just for want of a better word fantastic. I'm rarely impressed but today I am. The numbers probably don't reflect the bike but numbers are just that numbers, It's the tune that gets power to the ground. I'm Impressed with it.
