i think the aussie dollar being lower it should make it even more worth HD while to stay. But good on the SA govt for stepping in and saving local jobs.
Its great that those people may keep their jobs, but its wrong that the goverment has to give into these multi national companies and the tax payer pays the price.

There are few industries in Australia that "value add" on the export market so whatever government support is required, I am happy to commit my tax to it.

Fuck Harley and their no tax for the wheel factory in Australia, and we have to foot the bill for them.
What happened when the Aussie dollar went up and past parity, Harley kept the prices of their bikes high for a long time before they came down a bit, which still wasn't enough, we still pay double the price of what they sell for in the USA..
Also on another note, remember this, because everyone was purchasing Parts and accessories online from Harley dealers in the USA, Harley Australia kicked up a stink and had Harley USA stop the dealers from selling to customers out of the USA. Harley doesnt give a shit about you or me, its the all mighty dollar that counts and yes they are in the business to make money, but they are ripping off the Australian Taxpayer not the Goverment. The Goverment just dishes out the money they don't earn the dollars they just waste most of it in a bad way. If those Pollies were working for a real company they would all be sacked
