Ozymax, what was the question again ???????????????????????????????????????
Ozymax,
From what I could find, the stepped Samson are (but don't quote me on it) 1 7/8 into 2 inch into the collector with a 4 inch can. Baffles are available from 2 to 2.5 inch + quiet ones. I got a few email replies from them, I'll try and get an answer.
We should start a thread on how many different systems and slipons have been on 1 bike. I think you'd be right up the front. If any info comes back, I'll still post it so people know.
Sorry about causing a hoo-haa in the middle of your thread.
I'm now on the third full system, but have had 7 sets of slip ons with various combinations of baffles. Tried out almost as many seats though.
And heres the reply from Samson about header pipe sizes. Pretty damn helpful......not !
here you go tim. doesn't look to bad over all
but the slash cut is on a wierd angle
right under the letter "R" is what remains of the bracket that hit on the brake rod, cut off about 30mm, will take it all off when I pull the pipe in a couple of weeks
Now have 6mm clear of the master cylinder cap after spacing the mounting bracket off the transmission
the additional spacers needed
For all the problems, you are right, that's looks OK. Is that the standard master cylinder on the ABS models or have you changed it? Mine without ABS uses a similar size and shape to the front M/C. That might be where the clearance issues are. Still looks good. If you ever need any weird arse bushes or stuff machined from SS, aluminium etc, give me a yell.
Young bloke is a fitter/machinist.
Cheers
Tim
Here is the master cylinder on mine.
Thats a good thing about this forum lots of guys helping each other and many times never meet them before.
Spacers are all good mate. I just use Aluminum tube but I will make a new mount bracket over the next few week so I will only need the supplied spacer for the top back bolt.
Riding tomorrow so needed to do something about the noise level. Pulled the muffler and the baffel out and went to see the pipe man, busy till Wednesday, bugger.
Decided a temporary fix would do for a few days.
muffler off the old ZZR1100 sounds like shit but with the noise the other boys make I will put up with it
Bracket on front header is meant to be there. On my dyna there is an OEM bracket that bolts to the case under the cam chest for front header pipe. Rear support bracket is meant to be spaced, OEM tranny cover should have these spacers, already fitted. What year is your bike again?? I did say it was loud. LMAO. You should hear one with 640 cams and 11.75:1 comp. But my Pan is louder. I think maybe your bagging it unnecessarily" border="0" />
