    ok guys,

i know that we all like our scoots to go that 1 bit better. so we all opt out for the air/pipes & tuner to help out.

then we turn to cams, and this is where my next question is, we order the cams we want with all the parts necessary to complete the job and while we have an open cam chest we check the runout of the crank ,which is suppossed to be within a certain limit...

but what if its not.? what do you do?

my scoot now 16,000 klm,s on her ...my cams are on order [ being shipped as we speak]

and i,m just thinking about all the pro,s and con,s

    cheers

depending on just how far out it is might lead in one direction or the other. at 16000kms if it was in spec and I wasn't planning a full build I would leave it alone.
I intended to check mine when I built the 106 but with the dial indicator stand I have I couldn't get a reading on it so I just bolted it all back together.

Hmm... Can't help you on the compression mate but I can tell you that I had a shit eating grin on the first ride after my install. :) A noticeable difference in power.

If we are talking 96" , should be more like 170psi cranking ?

yep 96, apparently all stock bore and heads, hard cranking to start is a bit of a give away. goes well up to 4500 then falls over. Also has a pinging issue which make sense given the ccp.
Hilly you might be onto some thing with the carbon but I think it would need to be a massive build up to cause the problem, It's only got low teens in KM's on it I think.
The gauge should be very accurate given the workshop. best I could work out on bigboys site stock should be around 180, a combination on that site to get a 96 up to 220 was extreme to say the least and I doubt a machine shop would do it.

I agree but hate seeing a motor pulled down when you don't know what the issue is.
Wonder if it's worth trying to de carbon it first. Is there any products that will do it with out causing other issues?
