just wondering if I fit a set of pipes .. vance n hines comp pipes, do I need to have it tuned immediately. . As ill have to ride it to the shop to be tuned but wanted to fit them myself..
I currently have tab pipes and screaming eagle tuner but I hate the look of tabs
I ran a couple of weeks with V&H slip ons and a K&N filter, without a tuner.. It ran lean, and consequently hotter and back fired on deaccelaration.
The bikes leave factory fairly lean to meet emissions, so if you can put up with that you can go without a tuner for the short term I'd reckon.
FYI the screamin eagle street tuner (per-config files) won't work on a VRSC. I found out the hard way.
For now I have the fuelpak and she's running like a dream
