I have just upgraded front suspension and internals in dyna street bob.

powder coated lower fork sliders, progressive springs and racetech gold valve emulators.

done all the hard work. having trouble getting the slider covers back on probably due to the powder coating.

what's the easiest way to get it on.

take the slider covers to exhaust shop and get them opened up slightly or some other way?

either that or take back apart and sand the top part back to metal where the slider cover slips on?

    any suggestions?

    cheers

sand or razor blade of the area where the covers go over have done that a few times now not on the forks but on swingarm bearing area and head stems

razor blade and light sand. worked a treat.

I can now pull down and rebuild front suspension in 10 minutes.

they distort easily as well, when trying to re-install even with out the powder coat, thin tin,,ive had mine off & on several times, had to re shape them(back into shape) if its possible make a jig that sits in the first ring (groove of the cover and
tap it down that way,,they keep their shape better, having said that, you can get black alloy billet ones from harley l run them now, they fit over and have a grub screw to hold them in place, takes away all the hassle...
