The other day I fired up my 2010 Sportster Iron, soon after both the engine and battery lights came on... Went back home, turned off my bike, then turned it back on and let it warm up for awhile, took off and went riding for an hour with no issues or lights coming on? Fired up for a ride today and the lights are coming on again even after letting it warm up for awhile? The battery is the same one it has had stock.I've done a bit of research and I believe it may be a bad stator or regulator? How expensive and time consuming is this kind of thing to fix at a dealership and how is this issue caused in the first place? Any comments or help would be greatly appreciated.
Where do I find that to check it? Sorry, I'm not very mechanically skilled.
Got it into the local stealership, turns put it's a bad regulator and stator... Gonna cost me around $350 for both parts and $400 in labour, I found it funny that it was the stator aswell as I haven't noticed any performance issues? So all up $800.... shit situation but oh we'll I guess.
Cheers for those codes AJ, this would be a handy reference to have in future.
