     Hi everyone

I am new on this site and have bought my first Harley which is a 2007 CVO Springer Softail. I have only had it a few days and have ridden it with no issues until tonight.

I went out and tried to start the bike - Nothing! No lights came on, no instruments lit up, no actuation when starter or indicators were tried.

I put new batteries in both FOBs ( the right way round) still nothing

The little security alarm key flashes every few seconds as per usual and if I try to move the bike it will glow continuously for a few seconds. If i keep moving the bike the alarm will carrry on. which is ear splitting. It is as though the FOBs arent there and not disarming.

I tried the disarm trick etc but still no action.

The battery is brand new. It started perfectly and easily earlier today.

I had to fiddle witht the ignition knob on the tank yeaterday as though a contact was dodgy.

Fuses all ok in the box under the seat. The master fuse is OK, the battery fuse also looks OK.

I have no idea what to do next.

Can anyone please help? I love this bike and cant wait to ride some more

    Thanks

I think you may have found your problem with the ignition switch.

I've had to pull the main inigtion switch apart [really easy a small circlip holds everything together] gave it a clean and put dielectric grease onto the contacts.

re-assemble... takes about 15 min to complete...

    Cheers,

Remove the dash and spray some WD40 into the ignition switch, while turning the switch on and of.

Thanks for your replies everyone. The problem was simply an ignition switch connector. A five minute fix!
