After years of owning lots of Japanese bikes (and one BMW) I finally saw the light and bought myself a Harley. Now there has been some interesting bikes over those years ranging from a Suzuki 750 water bottle, a 1977 Honda Gold Wing, a 1983 Suzuki Katana 1100, a BMW R1150RT to a number of trail bikes. No Harleys there though. I was caught up in the belief that Harleys leaked lots of oil, didn't turn, stop or handle. But after I had knocked around with a few mates with Harleys I started to see things differently....it was a slow process.
My other bike (pictured below with my new acquisition), which I have had for four years, is a 2007 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1600, and has been a very good bike but as I often reminded...but its not a Harley.
So now I am a proud 2008 Electra Glide Ultra Classic owner and happy to be part of a rather exclusive club (so I am told). Yes its five years old, but when purchased only a couple of weeks ago it had a genuine 2300 kilometres on it (yes, 2300 km). It now has 3000. That's about as near as new to me. I love the bike already. Something about it that just wasn't there with previous bikes.
So, what do you reckon? Is Bourbon better than Saki? I now definitely reckon so.
