Yeah, I get all that, but there is a double meaning on your name Soapy, ya big dummy! Thats what i'm sayin, which part does he want to leave soapy? (i'm tryin to be funny like you, see)

Anyway, after all of the shenanigans goin on in this thread, did snave end up with any promising discounts?

About a year ago i started looking for a nightrain. preferably an 08 and up. Prices ranged from $24,000 to $25,000 for imports and $25,000 up to $29,000 for local( ignoring the highly modified and dreamers above this)

i looked at importing and to get an 08 with under 3,000 miles in true mint condition i was looking at $12,000-$14,000 add $7,000 to get it landed and on the road i would have to allow all up around $20,000 give or take.

Now i started thinking that after a bit of haggling i managed to get local already imported bikes down to $23,000. Was $3,000 too much of a premium to get a bike already imported,registered,warranty and the ability to ride before i buy. I was happy with that premium.

But after all that an 08 nightrain popped up in Melbourne with over $15,000 worth of goodies that were exactly what i wanted. 5000 klm mint and full 1 owner history.
All for $25,000 after haggling. It was a no brainer i jumped on it as it was far better value than an import at the time.

fast forward to today. And a stock 08 nightrain import can be had for under $20,000 landed with mint H5's low $20,000. My bike has had a further $8,000 spent on top of the $15,000 it already had and i would be lucky to get $24,000 for it. They are not worth $25,000 or higher. Not even close.

$20,000 is the new mark for these bikes. Little under for the average and a little over for the better examples.
If people pay more then that is an isolated sale and a lucky seller.

heres my bike.

2008 H5 nightrain, 6,000 klm, second owner with full history fat spoke rims,airbag suspension,exhaust,bars,new raked front end,tune,seat,performance front brakes,mirrors,indicators,air cleaner,fwd control ext and a whole heap of other stuff im sure i have forgotten. For $30,000 i will deliver it today and ill even throw in a tank of fuel and my wife for the weekend.Truth is it would probably sell for a lot less than that.
