I would like to re-chrome my iron head 1975
push
rod
tubes
. Can I re-chrome the top & bottom tubes, sliding cap thing and tube cover thing (with the slit in it)
will the tubes be too tight to slide into each other?

Kiwidave is probably right. Coupla other thoughts.
I don't know for sure, but I think the plater will take the old chrome and copper platings off first, so by the time they get re-done, they'd be back to spec, but talk to the plater first, eh!
And be careful of the amount of polishing that gets done. Many years ago I had some hand controls done. They polished the master cylinder so much, they just about took all the flat mating area for banjo (on the brake line) away. It works, but it was close. I think you need to remember that the guys that do the polishing don't get paid a lot, and probably don't care a lot..... just my opinion.
