I do like the look of mine but if/when I go the fat spokes I will probably go either a 2.5 or 3", the only problem is it will give a bigger rolling diameter lifting the front up a bit more.

Hi Steve ... I think from my 2 mates experience that the caps / cones are the way to go definitely on a budget ... my mate went with the cones that had the fork stop lugs ... also I will check but I am pretty sure he can no longer use his steering lock as the new head stem bolt that Vulcan supplies is of course longer than the stock one due to the cones sitting above and below the goose neck and the standard steering lock mechanism doesn't line up ... you have to remove the standard bolt from the bottom triple tree and put the longer one in .

We didn`t get any specific before and after shots but I did ask him just yesterday if it was cool to get a couple of pics and post them and he's fine with that , just have to take a few now .

Got to agree with a few of the others about your front wheel ... the 3.5 will look heaps better under your current guard unless you change to a softail front guard of course ... I recently bought a 3.5 inch front wheel for my Softail ... looks great I reckon compared to the skinny front 2.15 and maybe just in my mind but it seems to reassure me that there is more tyre on the road compared to the standard one ... currently have it off as I am in the process of changing paint jobs so will have it back on when the new tins are on .

    Tim .

well after continually looking at the front end I have decided I don't like the look like most of you. I don't really want to change the front guard as I like the Heritage look. I have taken the 21 off and put the 16 back on minus the chrome hub thing. I think it does suit the bikes style better. At least I know now and should be able to flick the wheel ok especially as it is a smooth rim and has a brand new 408 Dunlop on it.

Man that's what it is all about ... if you like the look that`s all that matters ... if you ever go back the other way try the 21 x 3.5 , not the 21 x 2.15 , it`s a completely different look and not the smooth edge .

    Happy riding ... Tim .

yeah Tim I am constantly thinking about new looks/ideas some work really well and some don't quite make it. If I go a bigger front it will be a heavy spoke and wider.
