Has anyone else come across a vibration / thumping  coming through seat area when backing off on throttle on a roadking, happens at most speeds

its not a metal on metal sound , more of a thump thump thump

Let the dealer take a look first Rob. Hopefully it will be something simple.

I would start by looking at the engine mounts too.

Engine mounts? I put a post about it in tech. Its warranty if ur still in date. If not,an eazy fix,
Also check head bearings. Might be feeling it further back. And of course seat bolts and contents of panniers!

    Loose tank bolts? Mabey

Took me awhile to find that thump

They looked and felt tight but not tight enough to pinch up to the frame

A few more ft lbs did the job

    Cheers

Just check that the bolts have had Loctite applied, I have found all bolts on the HD's require loctite blue for all removable bolts. Especially mounting and engine fasteners.
