i,ve got a softail deuce with vance and hinde pipes on it. went to get rego in the nt of oz. And they told me to go away until i put quite pipes on.have been looking for a set of stock pipes to buy or borrow,but cann.t find a thing.can some one out there, sell me a set or give me the name of a set that are cheap and quite.THAT WILL FIT AND DO THE JOB.!!!!!

Years ago we just stuffed steel wool up the pipes for rego...

just buy A SET OF USED ONES OFF EBAY. tHE V+H ARENT GOING TO PASS. any AFTER MATKET PIPE HAS A lower NOISE LEVL THAN STANDARD. pUT THEM ON......GET IT TESTED.......CHANGE THEM BACK, ITS THE ONLY WAY

Go to bike shop and borrow/hire pipes if you can't get any secondhanders. If looking on eBay, the deuce and fatboy pipes are the same I think. Not sure if they changed or not from 2007 onwards when fatty went to 200 size rear end. The smart partz baffles won't bring the noise down sufficiently. Been there, done that...

Fatboy and Deuce same exhaust system from 2000 up to and including 2006 ( This is the one you want !!) 

Fatboy and Deuce same exhaust 2007 and up to 2010

(Deuce only went to 2007 , that's the last of them )

Fatboy exhaust changed again 2011 ( O2 sensor positioning and size !)

Basically the three "types" are not interchangeable without major headfuck so get the correct model year

Each version has a myriad of parts to make a full system, $2K from Harley-D and 6 weeks to get them , so double-fuck that !!

I've got most all the options here in Perth for getting pits pass/ Rego , but sorry mate they're staying in Perth .

A complete Heritage / Nightrain / Softail Standard system will fit onto your bike with bracketing farting about, again 2000 to 2006

Called a " Staggered shorty duals " setup

That's what the south Oz Compliancing mob put on their Deuce(s) and Fatboys for compliance , prolly 'coz they have the systems to hand
