    Hey,

I've just got an 07 sportster 1200 custom.. Has pipes, intake and computer, but still looks pretty stock.. I want to make it look a bit tougher, plus replace some of the stock parts that are a little scratched (mirror, brake pedal)..

Suggestions for aesthetic mods? and good Australian websites that sell aftermarket parts? Or is ebay the go?

    Cheers
    Simon

Welcome to the forum Simon. How about a pic of your ride?

The sky is the limit with mods on a sporty. Pipes, intake, seat & bars are where a lot of blokes start. Getting it all to look "right" & is the hard part. Then there's the function side of it.

I've bought some gear from the US, dollar is weaker now but still some good deals out there. I'd be all for buying local if they didn't jack the prices up like they do.

    Try these for starters.

Thanks man, will check those sites out..

Have seen a few pics of sportys with a tank lifter kit, makes it look pretty tough.. but wonder if I would have to move the speedo tho...

Will not bother with tank lift for the same reason. Thanks for those links Slap will have a look later.

Yeah, what GT said. Wrong tank for a lift.

Maybe go for a solo seat.
    Mini apes.
    And loose the reflectors.

    I like the chrome strip.

Surprised NOMADA didn't say how good the bike looks as it's just like his?

I think thats held on with double sided tape like the refelectors.

I dont know what the filler cap will look like.

If you do, post up a pic. My bike is same colour as yours, and i've been thinking about doing the same.

Really depends on the look you want and when to stop. Slapsters links will come in handy as direct import will save some bucks. Some simple mods you can make with a few hand tools include a tank raise, but I'm not a fan of the custom tank (looks good with the peanut tank). Some great ideas on the forums and the road - pick and choose coz it will always be subjective and personal in the end.
