Looking at replacing an engine with an American imported engine. What would I need to take to vicroads to change engine no on registration? And is there any way of checking if its stolen? Thanks

Not too sure what would happen now but 25 years ago I bought an unregisted superglide...About 1 month after I had registered it I got called back into the registry office and it turned out that the motor was out of one of 10 bikes stolen from the Milwalki Police Department.It had been bought from Pacific Harley Trading company and somehow ended up in the bike I bought...At that time they took all my details and said if I didn't hear anything in the next few months that nothing would come of it and that the insurance company would not worry about chasing it up out here...I didn't hear anything so all was good...

 Ok thanks for the info. If I'm buying an imported engine of someone else who has imported it ill still need his BOS? Or will a receipt off him do?
