im looking at updating my system, iv got an 1988 softail with the 80 evo, now iv looked at waynes systems as well as V&H, samson etc, when i was in jap land a year or so ago, i met a couple of jokers that made there own systems for every bike, im guessing they copied others.

i'am very "buy aussy" orientated, can i get or entertain the thought of a 2.5" or 3" system thats made here? or should i buy a mandrel bender :)

my exhaust is part of a cam and carby update that iv taken advice from you guys about a few months back.

    cheers

It would be much cheaper to buy mandrel bends from an exhaust shop and weld them together, to build your system

I run/ran a set of 2-2 Supertrapps on my 86 Evo and they are awesome. They are brushed stainless and are not that common.

2.5 or 3" pipes au look nice, but your bike will run like total chit with them unless you baffle the crap out of them to get back pressure.  More pain than the gain IMO.

l ran a supertrap 2 into 1 with the racing open end cap with a SE4 cam, 42 mm Mikuni and fuck did that old girl rev and pull,. Unless your running a big inch motor stick with the 1" and 3/4 pipes
