Riding in to Sydney this morning in Peak hour Traffic down the Pacific Highway.

Traffic starts to speed up a bit through Turramurra and I'm in the gutter lane.

Bird in a little car decides to change lanes on me.

Quarter of the way in,she suddenly corrects herself.

I caught up with her later and asked her what alerted her to the fact that I was there.

    "I heard you" she said.

I might not have made it in today if it wasnt for the pipes.

    "Loud pipes save Lives"

Fuck the Bloody Regulators in this country that "We the Tax Payer" pay for.

If only the authorities weren't present at the same time, then they would have heard the same thing from the driver. Seems stupid not to have loud pipes, I know there are limits but if they have potentially saved someone from coming to grief, well then isn't that a good thing? Glad that you made it to work in one piece Wimbo. It's a risk we take every time we decide to jump on our steed.

I agree. When I ride in traffic, I've got three lights on, and always a gear higher to make as much noise as possible. I call it riding defensively!

Got defected about a year ago. Put the stock pipes on. After getting the canary removed at the motor reg inspection station got less than a km down the road before a cage moved over on me.

With the pipes back on it just never happens, funny how drivers look around and check mirrors when they can hear you.

We need to have a "take a polly for a ride" day and, With quiet pipes on, scare the pants off em when joe public keeps pulling out and cutting in front of us on our bikes.
When we stop and see how pale they are, tell them it happens less when we had louder pipes on. Then you might get them on our side. In theory- great. In prictice- never will it happen.
