Apparently killing your kids for scratching your bike is frowned upon in some circles, so yeah, don't do that.
Probly just needs a polish, hopefully they havent scratched it too much.

Those damn yellow sponges with the green scourers attached are a menace to paint jobs everywhere... As said above, I'd cut get a good cut and polish and give it a try.

if its any consolation, if the cut and polish maneuver don't work, here is the opportunity to decal the tank or a cracken paint job.

take the guard off and go to your local smash shop and get them to cut and polish the paint with a mechanical buff and it should be ok. Unless you have a buff and know how to use it properly, there is plenty of clear on the factory jobs its nice and thick. Nothing much to worry about just dont let him talk you into repainting the guard there is no need for that...

........and i bet the duller it got the more they tried to clean it .... try a test spot with the HD swirl remover .. if it isn't working stop and take it to a professional ...

    That'd take hours !!!

Not only that, I'd be scared of the dremel chuck touching the paint, you'll want tape and a rag.

Better still, get it polished by a pro for a carton of piss.

if it was me i'd just cut it back by hand, give a good wax, cut back again, then wax and polish a few times.

Is only 1 guard so it won't take you long, and if the above does'nt work then you'll know it's time to call in the pro's!

Heya guys, its Mrs Finny here, Ive got a great idea.

Grab the kids by the scruff of their necks, and wrap em up in a big polishing cloth, and rub them all over the bike.

Maybe next time they'll restrain from washing it at all!
