Headlight Nacelle on Deluxe

Just fitted the HD Nacelle kit to my '07 Deluxe and worked out quite well. Took a fair bit of planning, as the kit is mainly for the other FL Soft Tails  (Fat Boy & Heritage) and requires shorter risers, which I didn't use. To fit the auxiliary lamp bar, the bolt hole extentions needed shortening to fit and thinner washers required for the mounting bolts. A little grinding was required to clear around the stock risers, and a hole drilled in the back of the left nacelle half for the auxiliary lamp switch. A little 2 pack epoxy primer was used to protect the exposed metal after grinding and drilling. - Rob

I haven't really taken note of the light being moved either forward or back. Seems to be in the same position as stock. Headlight adjustment is done with screw adjusters which are under the headlight trim ring. - Rob

I have not changed my risers..they are still stock. It does leave a gap between the risers but there is an aftermarket piece to blank it off

    Cheers

Hi fellas, the riser kit and cover that the dealer is talking about isn't necessary and looks fugly I think. Here's a couple of pics where one shows where I needed to grind for clearance around the risers so that the two nacelle halves would fit together properly. I used a two pack primer where the bare metal was exposed after grinding. After the paint had dried, I got some 4mm rubber tubing I had lying around, and split it length wise with a sharpy, then slipped it over the primed part of the nacelle halves with some RTV to hold it in place. Looks ok, but may have to re-do this some time.
