just finished fitting these to my 08 Heritage softail, what a pain in the arse it was. Firstly the replacement bar didn't line up with the holes in the guard. It wasn't much out but I ended up having to get the round file out to make the holes bigger, probably had to take nearly 2 mm out of each side. The smoke lense kit was all good except for having 2 different types of amber bulbs, 2 had both pins at the bottom which is what is needed and the other 2 had 1 half way up. Luckily I read on hear a few days ago about another member having the same problem and he filed the upper pin off. This works well if anyone comes across the same problem, no idea why Harley would put them in the kit as they are not the right ones. Anyway all done now and has made the back of the bike look much neater, definitely worth doing.

The other type of bulb are for the USA bikes and market, where the indicators are also used as running lights

They are supposed to give you two extra bulbs for free with the kit. Ask for them next time you are in the shop, unless, of course, it was bought on-line.

     How's this?

You need the smoke lens for your brake/tail light too now. Get the smoked LED unit.
