"In a startling new analysis that has prompted police to launch a crackdown on bikers, research into fatal motorcycle crashes over the past 12 months found four out of five riders were to blame."

I'm guessing that at least four out of five fatal car crashes would find that the drivers were to blame too. It's hardly "startling".

One of my favourite stats is that 30% of all car accidents are caused by drunk drivers - therefore we need to get the sober drivers off the road, as they are causing 70% of all accidents.

Stats can go anyway someone wants them to go, but that doesnt stop the crazy car drivers and crazy bike riders from having accidents, people should take more control of their own actions, sure there are other variables on the road and it is dangerous out there.

But I find alot of motorcycle riders think they can ride better than their ability allows them, sometimes they crash and walk away but some crash and die.

Lots of drivers & riders have traffic records, when a cop pulls you over and says you have a bad traffic record I just say its a traffic offence, im not a murderer or a rapist, or a crazy gun shooting criminal just because you have a traffic record.

Interesting idea, but we all know that it is easy to make things look bad for riders, think of how many deaths we have on our roads, and how many of them are car accidents, look at the news and see all the car drivers that have accidents. the real reason I believe they look at riders is the same as they look at plane accidents, when they happen, which it is not that often, a rider sadly doesn't always make it, and that makes news and money, and it is the riders that will get the blame, where as car accidents are so common they don't really make an interesting story, so no one notices anymore. I have worked with the Victorian SES in my time, and I have come across a lot of accidents, and many of them are not pleasant, but at the same time, not many were motorcyclists by comparison. We even had one person hit the SES vehicle blocking a lane off one night on the edge of town,in order to make the crash site as safe as we could for those working on the road ahead. lights flashing, full side of reflective red and white checkers and a huge reflective SES sign on the doors. the driver said they didn't see why we should block the whole lane off, and said we caused the accident because we shouldn't have been parked there. some of our motorists are too friggin lazy to even go around a parked car, so what hope have we got as riders.
