     Hi folks,

I'm just about to remove my standard road king handle bars and replace them with Stock Harley heritage bars but l have 2 questions.

When l took off the removable plastic ring that surounds the steering lock l noticed that there are 2 security screw holding down the chrome cover that covers the handle bar clamps.

What is the best way to remove these screws so l can remove this chrome cover.

The other question do you need to do any mods to the stock heritage bars to fit the throttle by wire.

I have heard that you need to groove out the end of the handle bar to suit the Throttle by wire .

Also do you need to shorten the handle bar end of the throttle by wire end  as the throttle by wire sticks out a bit from the end of the handle bar .

Any help would be much appreciated

    Cheers Boppa

You need to get yourself a centre punch or similar to remove the headless screws.  Punch the screw head halfway toward the edge from the centre, then using the indentation punch counter-clockwise to release the screw. Once loose they will come out pretty easy.  Do the same when replacing.

With the handlebars you will have to notch the end of the bar for the FBW making sure it fits in snuggley and you can still turn the throttle (the end bit).  You shouldn't have to do anything else to the bars as long as you use the same hand grips used on the Roady.

    Enjoy the rewiring.
