    Hey guys,

Name is Giles and this is my first post!

This is my first HD (Jap bike rider and tracker for a long time) so i am just trying to get my head around a few ideas.

I would like to get about a 1.5 Inch tank rise done, I am hearing people say i will lose fuel range due to the pick up? Or will just the light come on sooner?

I know i will have to check that the drag bars wont foul on the Peanut tank too.

Any ideas or experiences would be appreciated!

    Cheers

    Giles :)

The old argument of buy an off the shelf or make your own - off the shelf they are cheap as chips (but I still made my own).

Yes, you might have issues with the light coming on early and yes, you might reduce the range of your tank somewhat (I went for a 3" raise so this is definite) - the upside is if you like the look and do it well the downsides are managable - just reset you speedo and run to however long you have in the past before filling up.

I have drag bars and placed a couple of spacers to stop the tank being hit.  Also, remove the speedo to  the side - it tops it off nicely.

How exactly did you make your own? I was only going to go 2" max

Nice looking bike. Now get the wire tuck, coil and ignition relocation done and watch how much better it looks.

its straight forward really, just try and make it as neat as possible. Use some black electrical tape around the wires, Do not tape the wires to the frame, it is not only messy/dodgy, but you can have issues.
