Ok , didn't seem to get any response when I asked about the width of a 2008 Fxstc rear Billet wheel ... outside edge of Hub to other outside edge .... must admit I was a bit surprised as there are normally so many in the know people on here .

So am trying another question ... will a 2007 .. 2008 .. 2009 .. Spoked rear wheel off a Softail standard fit straight into the swing arm of my 2008 Fxstc  ... with no major adjustments or modifications .

As far as I know yes.

However the only bike I have swapped back wheels PERSONALLY was my 1997 FXSTC with factory solid rear wheel

I put in a 1997 Dyna Wideglide spoked rear and it fitted right up , no other mods.

Can't see why a spoked wheel for any 200 rear wouldn't fit right in to your Anniversary.

Same brakes , same axle etc etc ( I think !)

Dude why don't you just measure the rim you've already got, there's your answer.. I think the standard rim width is 5.5" but I could be wrong, either of those years wheels should fit your bike..

Thanks guys ... my 2008 solid Alloy rear wheel is 17" x 6" or maybe even 6.5" ... the reason I was asking about the Softail Standard rear spoked wheels is because I want to buy just the hub and have it laced up to a 18" x 6" Chrome Alloy Rim ... and NOT a smooth edge factory one ... as it turns out there is no spoked rear wheels on the Softails after 2007 , that's what Gasoline Ally and Morgan & Wacker up here in Sunny Qld tell me anyhow ... could of sworn I had seen them though .

The Cross Bones and Black Line have rear spokes so will look into those ... was extremely dead keen on a set of Fat Spoke Wheels from Walka at VPW , great looking wheel and great price but there is a to much mucking around with having to make up spacers and what not and unfortunitly Walka dosent sell the spacers with the wheels ... all I want to do is slide out my Alloy rear wheel and slot in a spoked wheel and use the same axle and spacers ... and yes I know the hassles of having spoked wheels ... hard to clean ... bigger risk of flat tyres and not being able to plug them but I have been riding on spoke wheel bikes for over 30 years now and have never got a flat tyre .

Why do I want to get rid of my Alloy wheel , well I just like the look of spokes and the last time I looked that wasn't a crime , Lol ... and no those Billet wheels out there that have the look of spokes like the ones that are on the new Breakout just aren't the same ... in my opinion of course ... enough ranting from me , thanks again guys ... the quest continues .

Thanks Will67 ... I live fairly close to Heavy Duty and was actually talking to Paul on the counter the other day , he has given me some good ideas ... and your not wrong about Gasoline Ally , nice people to talk to and good for genuine spares but charge like a wounded bull ... they quoted a mate over $ 400 to change a tyre , needless to say mate went else where and had it done for $ 250 .

Gidday KiwiRob ... your just about right ... 06 and back had the 3/4" axles ... 07 had the 1" ... and 08 and up have gone to 25mm ... or maybe the other way around ... 07 having the 25mm and 08 and up having the 1" ... something like that and I know some people will say 25mm and 1" are the same but in fact there is a small difference which makes the axle in the internal wheel spacer to tight or to loose ... carnt remember which one at the moment .

Have actuly been to above mentioned dealerships and they wont even sell the hubs separate , have to buy complete wheel ... but not to worry I have a few other ideas going at the moment so I will see where I end up ... will show you all the finished project when I get my ideas sorted ... thanks again guys .

Try ebay for a used hub. Got one from the US some time back in the hope of lacing it to a '09 Road King Classic profile 6" wide rim. With the holes in the rim being the wrong angle for the holes in the hub to be laced to it, I'm now going to plan "B"..........when I get round to it.- Rob

Do not buy a hub through Harley (although I know that they do not sell just the rear hub). Get a hub from V-Twin Manufacturing (REAR HUB, CHROME, WITH 25mm BEARINGS FITS 2008 - UP SOFTAIL MODELS. Part Number 45-0853). This hub is identical to the Harley Davidson Hub but the finish and chrome is far superior. I have both the 17 inch solid wheel and 17 inch spoked wheel. I can measure the width of both if you still require it.
Be sure to make a spacer to shoulder the bearing on the drive side to prevent it moving.
The same axle spacers are used for both wheels.

Thanks guys for all of the advice ... ended up going with a set of Ride Wright Classic 40 spoke crossed lace Wheels out of USA via Rollies here in good old Briz Vegas ... a 17 x 6 rear which enabled me to use the same tyre I had on standard alloy wheel , which was good considering I still had heaps of tread left

And a 21 x 3.5 front with a 120 x 70 Avon Cobra tyre ... went with Ride Wright due to them assuring me they would slot straight in and they do , Ye Ha ... rear wheel is in and looks Faarrkking Great  ... just waiting to fit front due to having to make some adjustments to front fender ... massive new front tyre rubs on fender brackets ... there is always something when it comes to modifying our bikes isn't there , Lol .

If the pics come through it will be with the new rear and old standard front ... which dosent look to bad either ... of course in my humble opinion .

Now all I have to do is shrink my hands because going with the 40 spoke makes it real easy to get to rim and spokes but still a tad tight for those beautiful hubs ... I can hear all the billet wheel lovers saying told you so , Lol ... but I don`t care ,  it will be worth all the late nights downing a few cold Bundy`s getting my oversized chubby hands in there cleaning away .

More goodies to come ... Shinny new RC Component rear disk to replace sad standard one plus also to match up to front 13" RC disk matched to my new 6 piston PM caliper , which will go on as soon as I make mind up about front fender .

Happy riding guys ... Tim .

Rear looks good. Just like my 1997 FXSTC with wire rear. At the time I just wanted to be "different" and with a unique Factory Custom shop paint set it was.

Thanks Retro man , and Perth Hog you funny bugger you are so right , but I am already ahead of you , just got my Progressive 422 series with Remote Adjustable Preload rear shocks in from the states to go with my Mono Tube front springs and will be fitting them as soon as possible to get that better ride as well as lowering the pride and joy .

Lucky I didn't post a pic with me riding the beast as it looks as though it is already lowered , Lol .
