I actually am new here and posted a similar message in Introductions and apologize if you see this twice however i thought it would be more appropriate to list here also given the title.

Like a previous poster I did a search also on the title "Sturgis" with disspointing results, or maybe I needed to dig further past all the adverts....

So my partner and I are heaging to Sturgis from LV from Aug 1st -  I have been researching at length the best route given the time frame for our Sturgis Bucket List item and have come up with the following and I would be interested to hear from others that might be heading to Sturgis also  or have anything to add in helping us do all the right things.

Aug 1 Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Kayenta, Grand Junction, Steam Boat Prings, Cheyenne, Mount Rushmore

Aug 9-11 Sturgis

Thoughts on what to pack regarding clothing, temp's, Camping backup, alternative route, other. We do not yet have any accommodation in Sturgis, am aware we have left this late but wonder if any cabins may be available on arrival.

Best Sturgis Bar to visit?

I was up that way on a trip last year,come back down to LA via Nevada went around Lake Tahoe.If you are into old cars and hot rods check out the dates for Hot August Nights it had over 1500 cars in a rolling show from town to town.Check there web site.Enjoy your trip !
