Cheers Perth Hog.... i was thinking the same thing with the belt, my bros Fatbob with a 113 stage 4 has never slipped an its copps a hiding, will look further into it for sure.

My bike is running a 150mm rear with a thin belt, tried to fit a 160 but it wouldnt fit into the guard, i had to grind the inside lip off the guard to get the 150 to fit and its super tight!

I love the factory look with the original paint so it would be a shame to loose that for a 180, the sleeper look is what im after, love how it looks just like a factory herritage to the average person but if your someone that knows what they are looking at you can see all changes ive made.

For now I think il just enjoy it over summer and take it easy off the line haha!

Havn"t had much too update of late but the stock primary finally gave up and the housing cracked so just installed a 3inch BDL belt drive. Lot more confidence in the setup now and now all thats left stock in the drivetrain is the box which I'll hopefully upgrade to a 6 speed baker box soon. Thought I'd test out the new primary with a small skid and she's definitely up for the challenge!

Still looking sweet there Sam ... how did the chain conversion go ... done a bit of work to both of mine since 2013 and awhile back had a belt issue myself when one .. { a after market brand } .. tore to shreds when not even getting into it .

Have since gone back to a stocker and so far so good ... but to be fair I have been a little gun shy about letting go to much as cost for the old girl has climbed up there these last few years , the joys of Harley owner ship they tell me , Lol .

Cheers TJU! Chain conversion was absolutely necessary as the belt would just slip when hitting it hard and made the conversion useless as couldn't make use of the power. Never snapped or stripped a belt though.
Had some varying results with belts in my family though. Mine slipped hard, my dad has 2010 Electra Glide Standard with a built 124CI S&S and it stripped the teeth with me on it once and then then snapped another time pulling out of a servo and then my brother has a 2011 street Bob with a stage 4 113Ci putting out out 113hp and he absolutely flogs it! Popped many a tyre doing burnouts, does 1st 2nd and 3rd gear power skids and just generally flogs the living shit out of it and he's still on his original belt.
Obviously the weight of the bagger plays a big part in it all though.
Dad stills runs the belt though but I'm in his ear to convert to chain as the potential of his can't be unleashed.
I figure if I'm going to spend the coin to get decent power i want to be able to put it to the ground.

Gidday Sam , definitly get your point about being able to use the power if you have it ... the pic is of what happened to my belt mid 2015 ... like i said it was a aftermarket belt and haven`t had any real issues with the new Factory belt ... { YET , Lol } ... but when you get stuck on the side of a back country road when away for the weekend with the mates which you end up missing and have the embarrasement of having to get the pride and joy towed home on the back of a car trailer it leaves a bit of a worrying feeling when you give the old girl a bit of curry ... { hasn`t totally stopped me though } .

Was wondering did you do your conversion your self ... there is a mob called 3 Boyz ... { I think } ... out of USA that are surpossed to supply a complete conversion kit ... was there anyone in Australia that you would recomend or like i was wondering did you do it all your self .

    Cheers , Tim .

Hi TJU, my dad is pretty handy with the tools, he's rebuilt an 81 shovel and a rigid custom in the garage so we took the conversion on ourselves. Wasn't too difficult if you have some mechanical knowledge which my dad has. He's done everything on my bike from the engine conversion, to the belt drive and chain drive. Certainly saved me some dollars. For the conversion it was pretty straight forward, there were some specialist tools needed though.                                                                                                               We didnt buy any kit, just collected up the parts and had spacers made up as changed the 130mm tyre to a 150mm at the same time too.                                                                Good luck with conversion.......Im sure there'll be some blood sweat and beers spilt but thats all part of the fun haha!

Thanks Sam ... will see how long the belt last ... { hopefully for awhile yet } ... don`t mind attempting the small jobs myself and do get a good feeling when I achieve something and it turns out right , cheers .
